The Faculty is advertising a new Associate Professorship in Nineteenth and Twentieth Century Irish Literature, in association with Hertford College, to start on 1 October 2014 or as soon as possible thereafter. The salary range is £43,745 to £58,739 p.a. Please feel free to forward this vacancy to anyone who might be interested.
The appointed person will be required to provide thirty-six lectures per year or equivalent (in lectures and classes) for the English Faculty; to provide, for every week of full term, six hours per week of tutorial teaching or equivalent for the College; and to undertake examining and graduate supervision when requested. The successful candidate will have a doctorate in a relevant field, an excellent record in teaching, research and published scholarship in Irish literature in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and will be able to supervise and examine graduates in this field. The College requirements for teaching are for small-group and tutorial teaching from 1830-present. The appointed person will also be expected to contribute to administration in the Faculty and the College.
